The Key to Eternity

The key to eternity flows through me like blood to my heart.
The purpose of life- become your work of art.
Molded, crafted and fit just right,
So that I may pass into your everlasting light.

The light that I see in the sun and moon, in the earth and sky.
The light that is seen through my third eye.
The light thats shine reminds me do right not wrong.
The light that is joined by a harmonious song.

Let the light guide and the music will follow.
Transcend into a world full and bright from the dark and hollow.

But in order to achieve this, I am the one that must become whole.
Completely balance body, mind, and soul

Body cared for
Worked and rested
Nutrients enjoyed more
Health respected
Mind at peace
Emotions let go
Bad habits at ease
Allow truth to flow
Chakras aligned
Internally illuminated
Trust in the Divine
Soul rejuvenated

Simple yet stable, triangular I will be.
Loving myself, others and You
Graciously.

And this is my life’s goal
For I have seen beauty,
A glimpse of Nirvana,
Through the keyhole.

So this stamp on my left shall guide and keep me on the path of right,
reminding me I am the key that will open the door to your holy light.

Destination Unknown

are your bags pack?
we are hitting the open road
ready to accept what lies in front
smiling at the experiences of our past.

remember to refuel
jam to some good tunes
watch your speed
stay awake behind the wheel
and of course
buckle up

the path we are traveling on has not been set forth.

will we only stare ahead for the next sign telling us
we have made it to another preassigned destination?
will we be fixated with the setting sun in the rearview mirror,
wondering how much longer before the darkness will take over the night?

or will we instead be apart of the now?

look outside your window at all that life is.
is it the sun going down on the day
and a new moon rising?
is it the sun greeting our morning
kissing the moon goodnight?

it is our journey.

the way may twist, dip, and bend
but we are behind the wheel
turning to the curves of life.

no matter the point along this trip,
where we are going and where we have been,
will constantly be changing.
but always a part of where we are.

every now and then
pull over, put the car in park and step outside
capture the moment
and the beauty of our road trip.

Soulmates

Soulmate
We vibrate
At a different rate
A wave length.

Energy flooded
Heart stuttered
shocked in sync
To our own beat

Create your sound
Dance in curiousity
So we can play
Harmoniously

Death

what is it that i fear? what, is it that i seek
- the nothingness
- lack of control…
- total forgiveness
of myself
to the higher
- POWER
why is it my greatest desires are those that i fear most
- trust: in myself, in other, in this
- life
- eternity ...
-everything.
death is nothing

Title: Wave

Like a helpless rock beneath the water
The tide takes me away
On safe shore I rest in the soft sand
And I so desperately want to stay.

But time and time again
The same wave that set me free,
Pulls me back under,
For the ocean to shape and polish me.

Until the day comes, on land again,
That my perfected beauty catches the eye
And I am treasured forever
By the once hopeless passerby.

Religion

Do you ever sit and wonder
If it is religion that is God’s test?
To see through the bullshit
Of the man who claims to know best.

Would you show a stranger God’s love
If the man was Muslim, Hindu or a Jew?
You see, God is the same, despite his name.
My God is your God, and your’s is mine too.

Religion is a language,
The same story from a different point of view.
What is lost in translation is
The relationship is between God and You.

So worship your God,
In whatever way you please,
But don’t judge me if I’m not joining you
In a church on my knees.

For my hymns are sung by his birds.
His wine I drink from the flowing streams.
My cathedral is the valleys and mountains,
His nature, where nurture is giveth to me.

My devotion is in paint and script,
In pictures and in passion.
I exalt Him night and day,
Through my word and action.

My relationship is far from perfect,
There is a lot I hope to change.
I practice to appreciate Him more,
And seek forgiveness in exchange.

So, if you like, join me today,
In the sermon I have shared with you.
To praise my God, who is you God.
Our God is Love and Love is true.

Infinity

In the frozen winters, when all is still

In the moments of silence, wondering heats my chill.

It is here that there is a burn deep within in my soul,

To question the world and all that I claim to know.

What is real? Who am I?

Is there a God? What is Time?

This curiosity feeds me through the otherwise empty months.

My mind is my weapon, and love and awe I hunt.

The serenity of winter gives power to the spring,

And with the desires to grow, to know beyond myself, I go exploring.

They came and went, those icy days,

The sunshine wraps around me, and I wander away.

Just as the new fern uncurls, so too do I…
I see new worlds in the baby calf’s cry.
All the puzzles from before, the confusion and pain,

Are all washed away in the smell of the first rain.

That deep longing and hoping from within

Rises to the surface- my heart is alive again.

And as it always does, the warmth of spring turns to summer’s heat.

Once again the Universe offers me her rocking seat.

“Calm yourself child”.  I am told.

“Embrace the new. Let go. Let go of the old.
Lay on the lake, all day long.

Reflect in the mirror of the water’s song”.
That wonder from before beings to arise.

Questions are seen different with the season’s new eyes.

Where are we going? Why are we here?

What is love? What is fear?

The endless blue sky fills with a spectrum as the summer sun sets,

And now I harvest the fruit of patience, the reward of rest.

Crisp new answers fill the air,

The change of the colors, life and death’s affair.

I am driven to walk to an autumn beat,

If only it’s to hear the sound of the leaves beneath my feet.

Again, wandering takes me away to a world bright and new.

This reality I’ve created is breathtaking and seems so true.

Like the fern, after the growth of the year,

I curl back in, preparing for the stillness that is near.

The frost I know so well, greets me again,

One cycle around the sun has come to an end.

But, the world spins on, bringing another new day,

And when it is over the moon is ready to play.

So I wander in dawn’s mist and afternoon’s light.

I wonder in dusk’s glow and the darkness of night.

“never stop wondering, never stop wandering” etched in skin,

These words I wrote on infinity’s twist and come from within.

Just One
Dance

the universe is playing one of her songs.
i have forgotten how to sing along,
but her infinite rhythm goes on.

i step back and listen for the beat.
i let it rise me from my seat,
until i am dancing with fast feet.

the art, science, and love in sound
are painting, observing, and playing what is around.
the frequency, the frequency, the frequency profound.

life asked me for just this one dance.
i can fight him and resist the change
or follow with a graceful eloquence.

i move with balance, purpose, and ease.
matching him in the moment, a flirtatious tease.
he holds my body close, i feel a sense of peace.

i let go.
he and i get lost at her show,
found in the only song we know.

The Grand Premier

Critics rave: "profound","rooted high on nature" "heavy enlightenment of life".

I opened my eyes and there was the whole world
Impossible to see it all, I wondered
where do I settle for the show?

A whisper from within,
"where you are. just be"

The curtain opened to a black bed
Being hugged by a white cover
But the more I tried to absorb the image
The more that absorbed me
As if film developing,
The gray picture unfolded

Pulling away in hues of blue
And towards me in rusty reds
As the blanket was lifted
The greens began growing upward
And I became grounded in the pale yellows below.

Together,one ,translucent tranquility

In that moment- a white peaceful silence
Only hearing the outward call of the black bird speaking to me.

"you're not alone, you are home...the best seat in the house".

I applaud.

Dance the Night

dance the night,
paint it with your body
feel it with your soul
become grounded, lifted,
become whole.
the Moon's light will kiss you right between your eyes,
so never stop questioning the wonders of the skies.
let your roots keep you still,
your branches growing, moving,
and the motion of the ocean always keep you grooving.

EvoLOVE

Survival of the fittest.
Who does that include?
The rich, the powerful?
In the past it was he with the most
The more resources, the stronger.
But as our world evolved, so too did we.
Our needs have changed.
From that of food and shelter
To that of love.

Greed will be the death of the weak.

It is greed, control, and selfishness
That will take us away from the ones we love.

It is greed that causes
Deforestation, pollution, and waste
Obesity, stress, and addiction.

So too, greed is what causes us to long for the love of another.
But it is love that shall set us free.
Love of ourselves.

In order to survive we must find self love.

It is through love for self that we learn and understand.
With love, we are able to respect ourselves.
We value our bodies, our minds, and our souls.
We become in tune. And strong is our song.
It is by loving ourselves that we develop a true love
For all that affects us,
our food, water, earth, light.

We eliminate wasted hate.

It is then that we find love in and from others.
And as a whole, made of individual self love,
We will survive.

You Have Your Father's Eyes

Dad, a phrase has been said a time or two,
A comparison made between me and you.
They say, “you have your father’s eyes.”
And at that mine squint as I smile in reply.

They usually are referring to the way the blue shines,
Or the shape, or deep wrinkles and lines.
But I grin because what they often don’t know
Is my eyes run much deeper than the two that show.

More than size and color, your eyes taught me how to see
The interconnectedness and detail of what’s in front of me.
They taught me how to observe both up and down,
The winged, the clouds, the trees and ground.

“Dad, the bear is too close. He is staring at me!”
“Hold still, Amber, just watch. This is a rare opportunity.”
You took me to the mountains to see flowers in the spring
You sat me in a tree to see falling leaves dancing.

And it was you that first put a lens in my hand
To capture the perfection of this vast land.
With a camera in my pocket and your eyes to see,
The world I know continues to be novel to me.

But it was also your eyes that I learned to shut tight
In order to face fears, to walk in the blackness of night.
I learned to plunge into the unknown, to swim upstream,
To fight the good fight, to listen to passions, and to dream.

Yes your eyes taught me to look, watch, and see,
But they also taught me to listen, and to just be.
They taught me how to love, explore and cry when it feels right.
To create, to question, to give, to laugh and to hug extra tight.

To see the balance between nature’s beauty and beast,
To look within myself for both power and peace.
So Pops, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise,
That I love when they tell me that I have your eyes.
